A number of on-shore oil producers in Taranaki use the Omata Tank Farm facility (owned by Energy Infrastructure Limited) near the port in New Plymouth to store crude oil and condensate prior to shipping their oil to regional refineries.
Users of the Omata Tank Farm are members of a Group, and they operate an off-take and nomination procedure to ensure efficient utilisation of the Tank Farm. This includes collating production forecasts, monitoring production against forecast, agreeing shipping schedules with EIL, shippers and Users, data management and reporting.
